(production notes) Episode 3.7 (Patreon)

Welcome to the tilt! Things are really happening now, I was ALMOST too scared to write the cliffhanger of this episode. I delayed writing by a day to steel myself. I'm very glad I did. Is it a good sign when your partner cries after a tableread of the episode? It MUST be, right? #2021Goals

As ever, when I mention Redwing's Law, I must shout-out my friend Robert Bettelheim (of no fixed website). In my early drafts of season 1.0, Robert really helped me get the story straight, proofread for me, and provided Redwing's Law from one of his own scifi stories.

The track that plays in the last 30s of the episode, 'Badlands', is from my 2020 studio album, 'c0ast', which was all mastered by my friend and colleague John Callaghan. Though he writes plenty of incredible original music (my favourite song of his is Phylactory, though Let The Path Grow Over is beautiful too) he ALSO is a mash-up artist, over on his second channel. I tried a new effect with the dream sequence in act 2: I filtered out the high frequencies of the backing track with a low-pass filter to give a more ethereal effect. I'm very pleased with how it turned out! By the way, my plan is to write another album of backing music for season 4.0, starting on that in 21 days when the season 3.0 finale drops! Gosh, that's coming up soon, eep!
