I've had the idea for the "How To Care For Your New AI" book in my notes for a while. I imagine the crew in '2001' would have special training on how to interact most successfully with HAL, for instance. Obviously the manual didn't cover everything in that particular story...

BY THE WAY have you READ 2001: A Space Odyssey? The book (by Arthur C. Clarke) and the Kubrick movie were released at about the same time, and I believe they work best together. In the movie, you can see what happens from an third person perspective, seeing how HAL malfunctions and (spoiler alert, but come on) kills most of the crew. But in the BOOK you get HAL's perspective, the narrative shifts to his point of view. I presume because you are reading this you like to hear AI's point of view? Go read 2001.

ANYWAY. Today's music was fun. I don't often write music that I feel I could dance to, but I'm really channelling Country Music Veteran Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails today. Or trying to.

I keep forgetting to attach a screenshot of the episode. I don't know if that's fun for anyone, but it's what my screen looks like when recording and editing.

I say this in the shownotes, but I'll say it again here if you missed it: The excerpt from the book 'How To Care For Your New AI' was inspired by legendary dancer and choreographer Martha Graham's "blessed unrest" letter.

I made a poster for myself of the full quote, if you're interested

I think about that a lot.

See you next week <3
