(production-notes) Episode 4.8 (Patreon)
Content
Morning gang! A surprisingly short episode today. The word count is similar to previous episodes (I aim for 2,000, which I write 500 per workday), but I suppose I spoke faster this time? I try to keep Seth's voice even and steady, but he was very excitable this episode!
The signal (https://soundcloud.com/namtao/dragonslayer) only shook out to 2 minutes, rather than the typical 3, which will have a small effect too. Maybe I'll re-visit it in the future.
Over half of the incidental and SIGNAL music in this episode is different from previous seasons: Two background tracks are taken from Unsupervised Learning, my upcoming ambient synth album, and two from Supervised Learning, the previous ambient synth album. Milestones! Interest! Fun?
I'm pleased to do more world-building this episode, with Seth explicitly telling Peter how The Collapse happened. Seth says that the people who fled south "had no such luck". I fear that's how it'll go, once again the Global South loses. As you know, the northern hemisphere has significantly more land than the southern, so there's more space to retreat to. Siberia will be very handy!
If you've read this far, I have a secret for you: I am in the process of launching a parallel patreon-only Lost Terminal podcast! My new writing partner and I are putting together a pilot, and we have a few incredible voice actors in mind for the lead. It'll be similar to what you're used to: Single-person narrator, slowly uncovering stories in this world. That's all I shall say for now, as everything's up in the air!
A huge personal milestone is that for the first time in 4 seasons, my Dad didn't find any spelling or grammar errors in this week's RFC :-D LOVE YOU DAD!
Keep watching twitter for updates, talk to you soon friends <3
