Morning gang! What a relief July is over. Busy busy!

I've started to organise and automate my setup a little better. The sounds of Seth thinking, which I use as a scene transition, used to be "whatever length felt fine". Now it's exactly 2 seconds. I tried a bunch of different lengths, and settled on this as being not too long, not too short, and now they're all that length.

I've done similar things with my recording and music production behind the scenes, collecting my repeatedly-used clips and loops and effects into a library I can just grab from. This makes everything much easier.

(The origins of the word "easy" by the way, are "to have at hand". If you put all your ingredients out ready for cooking, everything is at hand, and everything is easier. I think about that a lot.)

I hope the drums sound punchy in today's SIGNAL track. I've been practising using side-chaining, which is a production technique where you reduce the volume of the bass when the kick drum is playing. This means that these two instruments that would otherwise be stepping on each other and sounding muddy, are clearly separated. I'm very happy with the results!

Talk to you next week, where I should finally be announcing the second podcast! <3
