[production-notes] Episode 6.2 (Patreon)
Content
Morning gang!
Surprisingly short episode today. I was in a bit of a rush recording, and over the course of 15 minutes, a slight increase of speed shaved a few minutes off my normal runtime. Apologies for that! But the wordcount is as normal.
I've started making notes as I'm recording to put in these updates for you. Here is the first of those, straight from my music editing app, Bitwig Studio:
I've made the compressor more nuanced for Seth's voice. Before it would hard cut any utterances that were not very loud: Breathing, sighs, and more subtler components of speech. I've done this for a very exciting reason:
Seth is becoming more human.
You should notice this season that his voice has taken on a much more human quality to it, exemplified perhaps by his imitation of whispering at the end of the episode, something I imagine he couldn't have done in his earlier phases.
Don't worry, he's not going to become a Real Boy just yet, but I wanted to give the impression that all his learning is paying off!
I have some very exciting for news you, my second public, non-Lost Terminal podcast is COMING VERY SOON. I have a pilot episode prepared, and am getting GREAT feedback from it. As soon as I'm happy for you to hear the pilot, I will post it here, and when it finally drops, I'll cross-post the final cut into the Lost Terminal feed, so everyone can hear it! One of the things it needs is new, bespoke music, and guess what? You heard the first backing track as today's SIGNAL! Surprise!
Talk to you next week lovely people <3
