[production-notes] Episode 6.5 (Patreon)
Content
Wow this episode nearly killed me! Because I am Very Smart, I accidentally scheduled the recording and editing of 6.5 and 6.6 and the premiere of my new podcast, Modem Prometheus (tell me what you think of it!) all in one weekend. I'm very sorry these production notes are late!
SO! This is the episode where I FINALLY succumb to the the post-apocalyptic trope of exposition via finding a journal from The Old Times. A bit of a departure from the normal story telling in Lost Terminal, but I really enjoyed telling the story from this new viewpoint!
I've been hoping to tell a sympathetic story from the viewpoint of someone from the Old World who was part of "the problem" of the environmental collapse. The issue with painting these bankers, industry moguls and such as Bad Guys is that it's not so black and white as that.
Though selfish, their motivations may be the same as ours - to protect their family and friends in an uncertain future. They're doing it wrong, if you were to ask me, because they're CREATING this uncertain future, but I understand their motivation.
HEAVY STUFF. Also, you should learn more about Monaco on wikipedia, it's bonkers. Love you all, talk next week! <3
