[production-notes] Episode 7.1 (Patreon)
Content
Seth and friends are back! Ooh, maybe that should be the name of the kids show spin-off, "Seth & Friends". I'd have to dial back the existential dread a bit...
Sorry the episode was delayed today, typical start of season problems were compounded by new year's socialising and logistics.
NEW BGM! You'll have heard the new backing track in act 3, do you like it? You've heard it before, it was a featured signal in *checks database* 1.3! But in re-listening (as I do between each season, to make sure my records are up to date and to find unused plot hooks) I realised that it would make a perfect backing track. There's one more new track you'll hear soon, but the mood wasn't right for it this episode.
I've been looking forward to exploring Yeshi's shipyard since I first described it in 5.11, The Yeshi Special (also known as the yeshi-speshi). It's modelled after my own local Makerspace, three rooms and a yard. I've waxed about how great these communities are before, but I simply must do again: Though I'm not the most practical person (I mostly go there with a laptop and headphones), the VIBE of the place is so productive - everyone's building something! All of Supervised Learning (the original background music for Lost Terminal) was written there, over the course of a few weeks. As Lucy says in the credits, if you can't find one, BUILD ONE!
Arctica's Seed Vault (again, A REAL THING) has enormous Ruin Value. Ruin value is the "live fast die young and leave behind a pretty corpse" of architecture. Usually done for aesthetic reasons, in building important structures, it's done for practical reasons. I believe, based on my research, that the seed vault would indeed be able to survive with a skeleton crew (or, in our case, a skeleton coven).
Happy new year everyone, thank you so much for being here, I couldn't do the show without you!
See you next week <3
