Morning friends! Firstly, I'm so sorry that there was no early access episode again - I totally ran out of time this weekend! I very cleverly scheduled the recording of LT7.2, Modem Prometheus episode 4, and Heliophage episode 5 all this weekend! I'm very excited for you to listen to them all, but it didn't leave me with any time...

On to the episode! Seth's advice for dealing with bad memories is a technique I use personally. I think it's similar to CBT, though I've never been taught that. It struck me as a similar way that a multi-layer cache works in technology - if you don't request a file, it becomes less fast to access. My friend John Callaghan (who wrote the 3.1 SIGNAL track) wrote a beautiful song about this effect, which I've told you about before but it's my favourite track of his: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0cKq2-PMxA

Peter's breakthrough is a common one in mental health, it seems to me. It's not a straight line to recovery. Sometimes you have great days, but then there's a bit of back-sliding.

I'm excited to show you more of the Novamediterra up-close, now that Maddie has better wheels! Though the physical world (ie Meatspace) is not as relevant to Seth as for us, I'm still keen to explore it from his (and Maddie's) point of view!

Do you recognise the ESA's last transmission up to Station 6? "Hello Station 6, we're not having a very good day down here on Earth." The wording is the same as the opening message from NASA to the only American not on earth on 9/11/2001, astronaut Frank Culbertson, aboard the ISS. I hope you don't think me borrowing it is in bad taste. I think about Frank and what he might have been worrying about that day often.

The book that Lucy mentions in the credits, "Every Tool's A Hammer" is an incredible memoir of the craft of making, by Adam Savage, of Mythbusters and Tested.com fame, one of my heroes. In the book, something struck me and I'll share it with you. In a chapter talking about learning as many skills as you can (metalworking, welding, programming, painting etc etc) Adam says something like "There will come a time where you need to use all that you have learned". For me, that was Lost Terminal. Music composition, sound editing, story writing, public speaking, web programming - it really does feel like my life was leading up to this work!

Thank you all so much for being here and giving me your support, it means the world to me. See you next week (early this time!) <3
