[production-notes] Episode 7.3 (Patreon)

Morning all!
Another week of double podcast editing - Modem Prometheus publishes today too, what a schedule! I must get better at looking ahead and not scheduling these things on the same day. Though it's the full moon today, a Monday, so I guess the heavens themselves are cursing me! (We release new MP episodes lunarly)
Arctica's got her work cut out for her, hasn't she? Currently, in our time, the Seed Vault is cooled to -18c, which stabilises the seeds. Can't do that after the Collapse!
What do you think of the Vault Coven, and the Noor family? I'm not sure if I'm going to reveal the family dynamic, I'm not sure yet if that's my story to tell. Stay tuned!
I fear the Lunazine failure may hit very close to home for many creative types. It's the worst thing for people to give haphazard criticism - even friends do it! What happens, in my experience, is they want to HELP, and they know that just showering you with praise and platitudes isn't useful, so they offer specific ways your creative output could be better. Which NEVER feels good, no matter how well-intentioned. A technique I like is to ask for no feedback on the night, or the next day, and only when you've grounded yourself ask for it. That works for theatre anyway!
I've modelled Longyearbyen on both the current Svalbard town, and layered influences from the cultures that would be moving north - Norwegian and Canadian, for instance. We'll see more of that throughout the season.
And poor little Maddie - she's like a family dog, scared by fireworks! That's often how I imagine her, a dog who can talk - perfection!

Thank you all so much, let me know if you have any questions about how I produce the show, I'd be delighted to answer in the comments here, or on twitter, or email - it's all good.
Talk to you next week! <3
