Production Notes 11.8 (Patreon)

What a cheerful podcast I am making! The hero's journey must have lows as well as highs, and there's a hint before the SIGNAL that things might be turning for our boy.

In season 1 Seth says "My first memory is of her, and is one of her last.", and here we have that played out in a single episode.

Season 11 is a ghost story, and the ghosts are getting LOUDER. The writer of Modem Prometheus (modemprometheus.com listen to the first episode right now, I promise you will love it!), my friend Neil, told me that ghost stories are not horror stories. Ghost stories are hopeful. Hopeful that rights can be wronged, even after death, and that peace can be attained.

I don't like the music in this one. I hope I'm in the minority there, but I just didn't have time to bring this over the inevitable peaks of despair that ward the valley of contentment. 

In my writing process for music I tend to not like the first version of what I compose. I have to work hard to get through that, safe in the knowledge that I will EVENTUALLY like it. It's almost always like this.

I wish my younger self knew this. So many half-finished compositions I abandoned! Maybe it happens for other work too?
