[production-notes] 12.3 (Patreon)

Hi folks, short one today as I'm still getting over covid (nearly better!).

Action and excitement this episode! Not everyone Seth meets is friendly!

Researching octopuses has been so interesting for this season - they're so intelligent that there's a common pattern that once you learn more about them you stop wanting to eat them, they're too smart, it feels bad.

I read a story about some scientists being confused why their crabs in their lab kept disappearing, even though they put a crab-proof lid on the aquarium. They installed some cameras, and discovered one of their octopus would sneak out of his aquarium at night, easily open the crab aquarium, have a feast, then sneak back home. What a sneak!

Even though I know octopuses' arms are called arms, I was still finding the word 'leg' in my script right up until recording! Words are HARD!

The music in today's episode comes from my new (well, second-hand) Roland MC-707, which can hopefully fully replace my PC as my music making device. I'm extremely impressed with it, and you'll hear a lot more of it through the season! I also have it's little battery-powered sister, the MC-101, which is good for making bleeps and bloops on the go! Very fun.

It's audio hardware like this that your support pay for, and I'm extremely grateful. I promised to use the money to make LT the best sounding podcast I can, and even though patreon are removing the 'goals' feature of the page, I will continue to do that.

Thank you all so much, talk more next week! <3
