This is just a concept cover for the first chapter of the comic I plan to work on in the future (I’ll share more about the story later, but for now I can say it’s set in a cyberpunk universe and will feature plenty of sexy scenes :-D). However, before diving into the new story seriously, I want to make progress on Kpop and Bestie. I’ve also been working on a project with Nicegent42 in my spare time that I think you guys will like! Anyway, I’m posting this cover today because I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new comic's layout. Do you prefer the style I’ve been using now (horizontal pages, one image per page) or a more classic comic book style (vertical pages, multiple images per page)? I’d appreciate everyone’s input. I think the downside of a vertical page layout is that we wouldn't have those panoramic chapter covers, but the upside might be a better reading experience? Anyway, I'll let you decide! :)

I like both but I think if you would go more real comic. You would have to use larger page sizes as otherwise you might sacrifice detail and resolution just to fit in the same page size you would be using now. Maybe give us a example using images from your older comics to show use how it would look. A picture say more then a 1000 words 😜

I voted for the current style, although a hybrid approach may also be okay. Which is mostly current style, except for scenes with: 1) simultaneous or rapid action 2) quick dialogue. Even then, I would prefer no more than 3 images per page. My reasoning is: Melissa's renders are so beautiful that I don't mind enjoying them at a cost of a bit slower pace of the narrative. Even if that means that she may have to get a new video card 🤭

For the curious minds, here's an AI answer on reasons for the classic comic style: Historically, utilizing multiple images per page helps in space economy for print media, fitting a story into a defined number of pages while balancing art and narrative. It allows creators to develop characters, settings, and plot without overwhelming a single illustration.

I think it depends on how it’s used I think the original style as in the current style is something I love most because it’s easy to condense and know where everything is I will say I’m not against experimenting but it depends on the story overall though I say do what you think is best but if you’re asking me for my opinion Melissa go with the original it’s classic but clean :).

Are you planning to publish this new one after "bestie" ends?

I like both, but your current style is really kind of your signature.

I much prefer the current style because I view on my desk-top PC with a large vdu which is oriented in landscape mode as are most screens. If it were able to be rotated 90deg, then I may think differently. Actually I love your text stories with a few illustrations even more :)

Classic comic style works good on paper, but on a computer monitor, it loses a lot of workable space. Current "computer screen" style is best.
