June Update (Patreon)

Hey everyone, today I'm writing this update in full transparency.

Shooting models has been a bust for me lately, nothing new for almost 3 months. I actually tried on 5 different occasions to book something and every time it failed, not all chokes, some solid justifications in there, like covid, weather, etc, but that said I'm really out of luck. I also feel like I'm running out of models to shoot with, feel like I'm at a place where most models don't actually need a photographer, it used to be much different before platform like Patreon & Only Fan, the regular OF girl don't need help to take pictures and most of their clients don't give a damn if the photos are pro or not. Same on my side, I feel like sometimes I have been shooting only for Patreon content, not thinking too much about the process behind the art. Back in the day I used to have many models coming to me, I had to turn down a few because I didn't have all the time in the world. Now it's pretty dry, on very rare occasions new models ask to collaborate, how funny is it that even tho it's free I get no one. However, I knew that would sorta happen when I got rid of the studio. When I announced the studio I had a ton of models reaching out to shoot, having a place like that to shoot legitimized me as a photographer. Thing is, that's not what I wanted, I felt crippled creatively really fast, plus it was expensive to rent. Like I've said before, I love shooting in the comfort of their own home, it's not only convenient but it truly does the best photos in my honest opinion. However, not all models are up for that, it is more and more a rare thing. 

Finding places to shoot is such a bottleneck, airbnbs were a great solution before it got out of price real fast, affordable places are usually very shitty and out of the city, I don't feel comfortable bringing models to these. A nice place will set you back 150-200$ nowadays, I can't justify this, and not all models contribute to funding either. 

That said, I have a shoot planned for next week, but maybe I shouldn't have said anything, afraid that I have jinxed it. Let's hope everything goes to plan because that should be a great one. 

One thing is for sure though, I still have many shoots in the archives and I intend to post every last one of them until I run out, so don't worry if you like past shoots, I got a lot to last a while. We still have one last set with Ges and the digital sets with Nathalie are coming this week. As for what's next I will probably do another poll and pick the rest at random, I just didn't make my mind yet so hang on for the surprises. 

I like doing the stories blog post, hope you like it as well because more are on the way. 

Nevertheless, I have projects in mind, I intend to expand my horizons, art and photography wise. As I'm writing this I am preparing a show with some of my photos, I am expected to do this around the end of summer or this fall, I only told a few people so this is exclusive news for you guys :) All I can say for now is: Big Prints. 

That said, I would also love to keep this page for future project like these, it's a great place for insights and exclusive content. 

I feel like I need to prove myself once again, reinvent myself not to sound too cliche, I'm not only the guy that does boudoir with a Patreon page or the dude that owns too much cameras for his own good, I am capable of much more.
