Hello again, sorry I've been so absent but here's another little personal update thingy so you know what's been going on with me because I'm sure some of you have been wondering! Warning it's looong and a little gloomy and depressing because I'm a disaster human, but I welcome any advice you'd like to give me in the comments!

I plan to rework my Patreon page to better reflect my current situation but for now everything is super scrambled for me. I've kinda fell behind and lost track of a lot of things so it just feels like I'm drowning in a bunch of incomprehensible screw ups. And although it's my own fault, it's also the thing that is holding me back even more because of fear. Falling so far behind has given me this weird kind of stage fright when filming videos, I feel like I don't belong here and sometimes I don't even log onto my accounts because I just feel like I'm too far gone and too much of a disappointment to show my face on here. Every time I try to get back into things and feel hopeful and excited, and people are like 'omg Seafoam is back!', it never lasts and I fall back into the hole. Its a very discouraging feeling when I've tried and failed so many times now over the past year+ and just keep letting myself down.

I'm a full time university student now so that's part of the reason my activity has dropped off, but another reason is that my life is just incredibly different than it used to be back when I was doing full time Youtube. Over the past year I've made an effort to adapt my channel into my new life but clearly that hasn't been working great for me, considering my crappy upload schedule. I feel guilty that I can't seem to get a handle on things no matter how much I try when there's people watching and waiting all the time. I've grown and changed a lot, my interests are different, my living situation is different and doesn't accommodate for filming the same way it used to, my personal life is very different (I used to be isolated with no irl friends so my channel and online persona was the center of my world) and since I started living all by myself for the first time, I've been struggling with new irl challenges that I've never had to deal with before which is a whole other thing that hasn't seen much improvement. Most of you know I have my own little arsenal of mental health issues, and currently most of my problems are due to pretty intense and consistent dissociation. I feel like an unsupervised little kid whos been given a grown up life and expected to maintain it like a normal adult, and I try my best but I'm still constantly disappointing myself and I'm kinda just barely staying afloat enough to keep things from falling into complete shambles. Which is quite the achievement for a lost and clueless child, but not nearly up to standard for a grown ass adult, which I am. But I'm in therapy and stuff so I'll be alright, please don't worry about me, I'm only sharing this to be fully transparent and let you in on everything that's going on for those who are curious about me personally.

So yeah. Nothing in my life is the same now and it's really hard to maintain that old standard of my channel even when I get motivated and really want to do it. It just keeps slipping away from me every time. So... after a year of trying and failing, I think I've come to know my limits a little more and I'm going to try to create a new standard instead of holding myself to the old one. I'm still not entirely sure what that will look like, but my main priority right now is to try and get back to making at least semi regular videos for my channel, because I can barely even manage to do that.

As of now I've filmed four videos that I plan to edit, nothing super interesting or fun like costumes and rp, but it's better than the whole lot of Nothing I've been putting out in the meantime. Hopefully with a few videos under my belt I'll feel more comfortable to film the roleplays that you all love when there's less of that looming pressure to upload due to being so inactive. I've got some free time during the holidays to try and get more filming done!

Thank you to everyone who has stuck around through all of this, you're the true MVPs ;w; and I love and appreciate you. And thank you and welcome to the new patrons that continue to pop in even with my horrible consistency. Although everyone's continued support means everything to me and truly helps me to keep going, fulfilling new patron rewards or requests is a bit too overwhelming for me at the moment unfortunately.

TO THOSE STILL WAITING ON REWARDS:
With all that being said, if anyone is still waiting on previous commissions/rewards that I have already accepted, please message me so you get to the top of my inbox and I can make a new updated list! Be sure to include the details of your original request and I'll do my best to get them done for you. Hopefully when I wrap up those loose ends on old rewards and re-do my page it will reduce the overwhelm I feel and help me to become more motivated to create new stuff.

I will send a message back to confirm that I read your message so you know whats goin on. If anyone had previously requested the custom doodle option from me, I might not be able to get it to you soon as they are low on the priority list, but you can still message me if it's something you still really want!

If you read through this whole thing, you get an imaginary gold star and 10 goodboi points, so thank you for caring about me. I will see you in my next video! ^-^

Hi Seafoam! Idk if you’re gonna see this, but I just want to say thank you and to take all the time you need. I found your channel four years ago with your tsundere dragon roleplays and have used your ASMR videos to fall asleep almost every night since then (Not in a weird way lol. Your voice and your videos are just super relaxing and therapeutic.). While I can’t quite relate to the mental health difficulties you’re going through right now (and I wish you the best with that), I can definitely relate to that feeling of not being able to live up to your audience’s expectations. I think I can speak on behalf of your entire audience by assuring you that we’re all here for you and that there is no rush at all. Again, take all the time you need. I can guarantee that every bit of content will be met with more fanfare than the last. Happy Holidays, Seafoam! :)

Thank you for letting us know!

I really relate to you with the dissociation, it's a shitty thing that brings alot more shitty things with it. I hope you can find things that help you and i hope all goes well for you :).

Fear is a powerful force to be reckon with, but also fear can cripple you if you let it. I know it will set you back and hold you. The only thing I can say I know a movie saying but you have to face your fear, BUT on your terms. One at a time not all at once, when you feel comfortable push it. I hope this helps. Friends and Family help but they can lead you astray. You dictate your terms. Sending warm thoughts and big warm hugs. a friend Daniel

Well, thanks for the gold star :P Changes in life are inevitable. Of course, it is not possible for me to put myself in your shoes, but I am convinced that you will succeed. Please don`t feel pressured about them new videos. We have plenty of old ones from you to rewatch and enjoy. Stay safe and happy holidays!

That feeling like your not doing as much as a "grown up" should is actually super common in people I've talked to. It seems like transitioning to adulthood is more about staying afloat long enough than actually having things together. Also don't worry about videos not being a big elaborate thing! Some of my, and I'm sure many others', favorite videos are when you just sit in front of the mic and be yourself!🥰

Seafoam you truly are an amazing person. You’ve given so much love and have brought hope to so many. Your videos have helped me through so many of my own irl challenges lately. So please take all the time you need for yourself. I and so many others love and appreciate you as well. Thanks for all that you’ve already done and I look forward to any content that you want share with us in the future!

Don't know if it helps but don't view making a video after a long time as "coming back" or that their is an obligation to do more in a short amount of time; you never "left" you just have a slow upload schedule :)

So I hope you know you're not the only creator with those thoughts of being to far gone after a long hiatus. I've heard from plenty of people that getting over that hurdle can be very stressful but once hey get back in the swing of things everything just falls back into place. That's not to say you wont face your own challenges, you've mentioned a few things holding you back and unfortunately all we can do is remind you that even without videos we'll always love you. I know I'm not the only one who would love to get to know the person you've become over the years, put yourself into your videos and don't worry about loosing fans that miss the old you because you'll just find a new group of people who have grown as people like you did. Lastly on the subject of RP, I wont lie and say I don't want them you were one of the first creators who showed me how fun RP videos could be and I haven't looked back since. But they're not essential, we'll cherish anything you make for us. Okay this is the actual lastly. How many goodboi points do I need to accumulate before I can redeem them in for Seafoam head pats?

You expressed yourself really well and great job addressing all of those things^ I just want to say that you’re not a disappointment at least to me, and I’ll probably forever be grateful. You’ve kind of helped me a lot when I needed it. Everything you said about feeling stuck, those types of crushing cycles and especially the whole dissociation/related ordeals feel excessively relatable to me honestly. It’s been at the root of a lot of problems for over 8y now. I wish you all the best in trying to adjust for as long as that takes. I hope you can take care well enough. If I’d see a way to help I’d try tbh. And yay^^ That seems like a good plan. I hope those might help a little bit. If anything I’ve always loved those types of videos, or at least cozy/casual ones in general. Tbh I just chose the special babbie tier for the title and to be grateful at least a tiny bit. I was just not really stable enough these last years to spend on much, but I’m happy I finally did. I’m kind of anxious in general, so I can’t imagine how rough the pressure and overwhelm must be. I hope you can cope a little. And you’re cool and I root for you if anything, no judging or strict standards from me if that means anything. I’m sure people here feel the same way. And I’m eager to listen anytime, but all the thank you’s for those goodboi points^^

If I may offer encouragement: as a humble fan I appreciate the update and accept this new situation. If you feel guilty for not uploading, I forgive you! Please do what is best for YOU- this is best for US too! It sounds like catching up on things would help, so I think it is OK to do that instead of forcing yourself to make more videos. College is a major transition period. Setting an expectation to have it all figured out right away and "be an adult" isn't fair. Remember: life is big and slow to move. Living on your own takes a lot of trial and error and practice. Don't believe those lies from your shadow self! I care about you, and send imaginary headpats your way. ^_^/

Smooth Riverrock

Try to remember when you are making videos that you are talking to friends. Merry Christmas and Best Wishes. Lots of love.

james

we love you and accept you and support you, unconditionally. Regardless of upload schedule or uploading at all, we love you and accept you 💗

james

Michael K.

Best wishes to you this holiday season. Your subscribers and patreons understand and you have all our support. As you have said in many of your videos "I'm here for you." so we are here for YOU as well. Just take it in small amounts and try not to do it all at once(easier said than done I know). Please take care.

SeafoamKittenASMR

Thank you this is reassuring, I will put myself into my videos ^-^ You have enough goodboi points for a headpat right now. *pat pat pat*

I understand completely Foamy :3 While I don't suffer from the same stuff you do, I do suffer from severe depression and anxiety so I'm basically a recluse too. I don't have any irl friends and online is my whole world right now. I'm also seeing a therapist and she has helped me a ton too! I'm always thinking about you and hoping you are doing well and I'm glad to hear you are ok at the very least and getting some help! If you ever, EVER need to talk, rant, or just want someone to play viddie games with, you have my Discord :3 Take it slow and know we all support you with our whole hearts! <3 <3
