Hi everyone, today we have a one off painting for Easter. I've always wanted to paint a Fabergé Egg and there are so many to choose from. You can either paint along with me or use the techniques and steps in the tutorial to paint one of your own design. I've attached a few photos of other Fabergé Egg designs you to inspire you!

You will need

A piece of watercolour paper (I used 6x8 inches)

A compass

pencil

eraser

ruler/set square

Colours I used: Moonglow, Windsor Blue, Cobalt Blue Deep, French Ultramarine Blue, Green Gold, Sap Green, Paynes Grey, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Yellow, Buff Titanium, Raw Umber, Cadmium Orange

Optional Metallic Paint: I used my finite palette but please use whatever you have.

Brushes I used: Size 4, 2, 0, 2/0, 4/0

Thank youuuu! 😍 The 3D effect you've achieved with the metallic paint is amazing, I have lots to learn by following you on this piece. 😀 I can't wait to see the painting of the cutest Easter bunny, will it be a tutorial here too? 😍

And thank you also for telling the size of the paper, it's very useful! 🥰

Wow! This looks amazing and I can’t wait to watch the tutorial and maybe feel brave enough to have a go. Really beautiful Harriet 🐣

Harriet - Certainly looking forward to painting this. Thank you! I’ve been using Winsor & Newton’s Sap Green, which I wasn’t fond of (too lime green for me) so I then purchased Daniel Smith’s Sap Green. What a difference!! So much darker. I’ve been testing it, adding other colors to lighten it up. Ugh! What did I do?? LOL. So my question to you is which one do you use/prefer? Thanks again! Pat

Oh wow, this looks beautiful!

Beverly Dorman

My favorite thing you’ve done! Thank you.

Hi Harriet ! You may have said in other videos, but I'll just ask, which brand of Moonglow do you prefer? Thanks so much. A beautiful piece as always! I also would like to know your choice of Payne's Grey. Mine is much too dark, I think. Thank you, dear!!

Well Pat, I always loved Daler Rowney artists Sap Green but I'm finding it so hard to get at the moment! But I prefer a deeper sap green

Harriet - Blick Art in USA sells Daler Rowney and they have Sap Green. If they don’t ship to GB, I’d be happy to mail to you. No problem.
