Hi everyone, today we have a one off tutorial so it's just for Sweet pea tier and above. You asked for a horse chestnut study and here it is! The spikes on the conker shell are something I've long wondered how to do and I'm really pleased with my technique in this tutorial. We have painted many leaves together but I've upgraded my technique recently following my week of teaching in France. I've become very fond of adding glaze layers even when it feels like it's finished.

I've attached a few reference photos.

You will need

Cold pressed watercolour paper 6x8 inch

HB pencil

soft and hard eraser

Colours I used: Green Gold, Yellow Ochre, Sap Green, Paynes Grey, Deep Sap Green, Cadmium Yellow, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson

Brushes I used: 8,2,0, rigger

Don't forget to share your paintings in Discord and on Social Media, I love to see them and it's such a great help in developing your confidence to share your work and see others'!

I really enjoyed painting the chestnut! I'm not very good, but glazing was fun!

Good evening Harriet, I would like to do this challenge but I can not make big the screen.
