Hi everyone, it feels rather strange to be in December after what feels like a three month build up. We've had a week of two halves: incredibly busy and franticly trying to get work done in time for advent, and then an extremely relaxing 'office christmas party'!

On Patreon this week

We have a lovely watercolour challenge in two parts: painting mistletoe growing in a tree. This was such a nice change to all the classic festive painting, thanks for suggesting it in You Choose Youtube!

Trying new things

My lovely friend Emma Carlisle brought along some watercolour inks for me to try when we had a coffee together this week. I owe so much of my creative development to her, purely through her infectious enthusiasm for all things drawing and painting. These are Pebeo Colorex inks and behind them in the photo are some Colorex markers you can fill up with colour.

Watercolour Advent is here!

This will dominate Youtube now up until Christmas, have you opened the first door yet?!

Office Christmas Party

The team had a lovely, well deserved rest at Watergate Bay Hotel (our favourite place to go as they love dogs!) This was as we arrived, all exhausted!

Quilting progress

It's important to have hobbies that take you away from your day job. For me, it's hard to find something I enjoy as much as painting, but quilting is something I've loved in the past. My current project is restoring the bundle of rags that was my childhood quilt. I've been slowly piecing it back together and adding in some new patches where necessary. I made great progress over the weekend at the hotel. I'd love to finish it for Christmas and then need to work out what to do with it; do I back it, or make it part of a larger piece??

Ant and Crumble on the beach

I dont know of Ant and Crumble who loves the beach more. I was photographer this trip so all the photos are of them! Both looking much more perky after some well earned rest!

Looks lovely! What is watercolour ink by the way?

I shall certainly be doing the mistletoe tree challenge. A familiar sight, yet I've often wondered how to paint one. I look forward to finding out.

I have been working on my quilt since I was 18! It’s something I come back to in between other crafting projects

Well it's something I know very little about so best to do a search on Youtube for some videos. And maybe in the new year i'll give it a proper try.
