Hi everyone, this weeks looks like it was all about fun from the selection of photos. Behind the scenes we are still working very hard on sorting out last minute orders, new challenges with international postage and last minute wedding clients. So while it has been fun, it's been quite intense and I'm so glad to be back at home with nowhere to go today to catch up with myself!
Getting our Christmas tree
On the first day of the advent calendar I talked about how I always used to a get a tree only a week before Christmas as a child, now on the 10th of December it felt really late to do so! But we managed to make some time to go and get our tree. Ant looks like he's auditioning for a Hallmark movie!
Some last bits of painting
I've been creating some quick and easy festive tutorials which will be going out on social media channels in the form of reels and short videos, I've never seen Whoville before but it was fun to learn about it and paint this!
A real mistletoe tree
It was amazing to see a real life example of the last two weeks' watercolour challenge!
A friendly visitor
A very bold robin joined us for an outdoor filming session
Creative friends
Friend and fellow artist Rosie Harbottle gathered together a lovely bunch of female freelancers for a Christmas lunch at Glebe House. It was wonderful to have an 'office christmas party' as we dont have a large workforce to celebrate with.
Creative Christmas Ornaments
I absolutely loved having a go at making pinned fabric baubles. Some friends set up a bauble making evening. There were ceramic ones to paint and these! I opted for the no painting option!
Christmases past
I had my annual Christmas planning meeting with Mum. Here is one of her old saved recipes from her mother, with a rather unusual stuffing idea!
Barbie!
I went to London this weekend and stumbled across the Barbie exhibition at the Design Museum. It was very serendipitous as I was with my bet friend Ros who is a fellow creative. We met working together in the costume department in a theatre and both credit our love of Barbies with our costume career paths.
Barbie Dream House
This was the Barbie Dream House a childhood friend of mine had. I loved it so much but didnt have one of my own. Instead, I created my very own Barbie house out of the TV cabinet and created furniture from toilet rolls, cardboard with toilet paper and cotton wool upholstery. It was my first model making experience and another extremely influential moment in my creative development. Barbie provided so much inspiration for me as a child. I'm so glad my parents never bought me the real thing!
Bringing Lola Home
Some of you will know my brother's dog Lola. She lived with us for a year a little while back. She's been back at home in London this year but I travelled down with her on the London Underground and a very packed train to get her to Devon while they are away. She was good as gold and very unphased. She's a true Londoner!
