Hi everyone, it's been another week of extremely intense work for me, the book deadline is the end of the month. I've had to be strict with making time for nice things in between the work schedule so you'll see a few of those here.
This week on Youtube 1
I have a few spaces left on my July Scotland retreat so we're painting one of the places we'll visit while we're there! Lock Lomond!
This week on Youtube 2
It's the big garden birdwatch this coming weekend so I've given keen birdwatchers an idea to use it as a timed watercolour painting exercise. The birds move so fast on and off the bird feeder, how do you capture them in watercolour in real time? Like this! That tutorial is coming on Thursday.
More sneak peeks of the book 1
This magpie is a bit more detailed than the youtube birdwatching tutorial! This project is all about the many different colours you can use for black.
More sneak peeks of the book 2
This window box is a culmination of a few different techniques learnt in the book. I love nothing more than painting sunny geraniums!
Lego!
I'm making some headway with my American Office Lego set!
Mario Kart
Crumble really doesn't love computer games. But when I'm in book writing mode it's a vital part of relaxation.
Wedding Stationery
We still have wedding stationery commissions going on. Here is a shot of the lovely vellum wrap featuring one of my venue illustrations. I've never printed on vellum before and I'm so pleased with it!
Sunday Roast
Although it's such a huge UK tradition, it's been months since Ant and I had a Sunday Roast. I'm much more motivated to seek out nice things to do while in book writing mode so here we are at one of the oldest pubs in the country, The Cridford Inn, having an amazing roast pork. Crumble is enjoying the log fire out of shot.
New nails
I'm making an effort to keep my nails and hands nice for the tutorials, but I'm not used to remotely long nails so it was great to have them filed down and redone this weekend!
Mini Flower Tutorials
Thanks so much for your enthusiastic response to the flower tutorials. I've decided to do a little Youtube tutorial telling people how we're doing the longform versions on Patreon so the Cyclamen this week is going to be a one-off Youtube long fom mini flower tutorial for everyone!
