Hi everyone, I had the MOST FUN making this and I hope you will too. It's not something you can rush so do set aside a decent amount of time (especially for part 2) to plan and paint your design.

If you're not familiar with this fun little item, you can read about the history of it here.

For the beady eyed of you, do you see the set up 'clap' that Ant forgot to cut??

If you would like to forge ahead and start painting your puzzle purse, please do! I will be showing you how I paint mine next week.

You will need:

A square sheet of paper - not thick watercolour paper. I used 95gsm sketching paper. The key thing is to check that watercolour paint doesnt bleed through to the other side. My sheet is 9 inches square.

hb pencil

ruler

Colours I used: At this stage it's all about playing around with the colours in your palette and making a limited, harmonious colour palette of your choice. Complementary colours are a good place to start.

Brushes I used: Again, at this stage it's not really relevant, just try out little designs with the brushes of your choice.

This is going to be fun! No valentine for me, but this project makes a perfect Birthday, Anniversary, and/or Get Well card. Thanks Harriet!!

Thank you for including a link to read the history behind the card! So interesting!!

I struggled with the last part of the folding. I kept getting the diagonal fold on the left side of each "wing". If I turned it over, it looked right. I found this link that has a technique for the last part of the fold that helped me. Hope it might help others with the last step. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfV2pfZ8l4U&ab_channel=EinatKessler
