Hi everyone, we had such lovely weather this week, we spent a lot of time gardening but it doesnt look like there's anything to show for it, just lots of compost! I've been busy editing my new book and working on some very eclectic wedding stationery.

Sketching Sketchbooks

This was a fun exercise, painting a miniature version of my very own painting! It's one of many extra incidental illustrations I've created to decorate a few bare corners of my new book. Although it's not been formally announced yet I noticed that my publishers have already told Amazon! This front cover is not finalised yet but it's along these lines. How exciting!

A rare wedding commission

Wedding stationery is a very small part of my business these days. It feels like a real treat to spend some time on a commission. Here is a page of images suggested by the couple in an effort to bring Colombia and Basque Country together. Do you recognise any of these places?

Singing in the Cathedral

I'm now a member of a choir and it's a fantastic contrast to my everyday. We get to sing in Exeter Cathedral which is a real honour. Here we are in afternoon rehearsal on the day of our big concert that was on Saturday!

Labyrinth

Yesterday I took my Mother in Law to a fascinating one woman show 'unlocking the secrets of Labyrinth'. Kate Mosse wrote this fantastic historical fiction 20 years ago and it was an international bestseller. Based around Carcasonne in the Southern region of France very close to where I held my first watercolour retreat in 2023! I wish more authors would share the research and writing process in such a theatrical manner, it's really inspired me to read the book again. The tour continues into July.

Sweet treats

On Youtube this week we are painting Macarons, one of the You choose Youtube requests. I had so much fun painting these! I want to try lots more colours!

Faberge Egg for Patreon

Last year we had a lovely time painting a Faberge Egg design in the watercolour challenges. It feels fitting to try a new one in the run up to Easter. This will be a three part watercolour challenge.

Easy Easter Art

We've got a lovely simple Easter art tutorial on Thursday on Youtube. Perfectly simple Easter bunnies, chicks and a goose! Great for beginners and more experienced painters alike!

That Cathedral is gorgeous! Next Christmas I hope you will include some Carolers! (: Also LOVE the mini sketch book and Macaroons!

Gorgeous egg and the macaroons look good enough to eat. Looking forward to trying these this week. Enjoy the singing experience. Lucky you to have that talent.
