From My Camera Roll (Patreon)

Hi everyone, I've just returned from a weekend painting retreat with artist (and friend) Rosie Harbottle. I went with my other artist friend Emma Carlisle and had a great few days stepping outside of my creative comfort zone painting with acrylics on a large canvas!

Watercolour Hang out

Last week we enjoyed an under the sea theme in the watercolour hang out. Available to watch back for anyone in the Wild Rose or Cherry Blossom tier.

Dog & Duck

Crumble rarely poses for the camera so I grabbed my moment!

Portugal

We launched my Spring 2026 retreat on Thursday and I'm thrilled to see some Patrons on the list. We've got 4 spaces left if you fancy a warm week in Portugal in April.

Coombe Farm Studio Retreat

Emma and me sketching the dandelions and primroses

Loosening up

Some of my oil pastel sketches, drawn with the WRONG HAND! I found it so freeing to use my right hand and embrace the wobble. My final piece was all drawn out with my right hand before I started painting.

Paul Riley

Watercolourist Paul Riley owns Coombe Farm studios. His work is everywhere as well as his books. I've ordered this one, it's so different to anything else I've seen. When it arrives I'll do a flick through for you.

Colour Theory

This little japanese book is wonderful for anyone interested in colour or who needs help when choosing harmonious colour palettes. It's called 'A Dictionary of Color Combinations'

Work in progress

These two canvases at the top of the photo are my paintings from the workshop - not quite finished. It was such an interesting experience to put this together. It gave me a better insight to the rollercoaster of creative emotions we all go through when on art retreats!

Emma Carlisle

My friend Emma in her element on the floor! Emma is a really expressive illustrator and mixed media artist. She also runs a patreon and is perfect for anyone wanting to build their drawing skills.

This week on Youtube

We're starting the Floral Alphabet this week on Youtube and that will run through May and June. Get your template here! Therefore we wont have any You Choose Youtube while this is on. And on Patreon we are carrying on with the Watercolour challenge of Pynes House.
