Happy May to you all! I feel very lucky to have a birthday in May, it's a month full of hope and colour in the garden. It's been a full on week with plenty to share.
Tobys Garden Festival
I spent Friday and Saturday just gone, teaching 4 x 2 hour watercolour flower painting workshops at Tobys Garden Festival at Powderham Castle. We painted flowers cut from my mum's garden which is walking distance from the venue. I was amazed how much you can achieve in 2 hours! It was so lovely to meet a few Patrons there!
My class room for the weekend
It was a pretty hot weekend so I was very grateful to be in the relative cool of one of the Castle rooms which just happened to be the old school room. Isn't it amazing!
Garden news
The heat has sped things up in the greenhouse. I had to save some wilted lettuce from total annihilation! I picked my first radish and it tasted wonderful. I get so inspired this time of year to paint what I pick!
Peony Season
May means Peonies are blooming and we have no less than three in our May mini flower series! Coming to social media (and then Patreon) soon!
Dog Days
A highlight of my week continues to be the few hours I volunteer at our local dog shelter. Here is Mandy, smelling the flowers.
The serious business of Marshmallows
The sign of a successful event is not having many photos to show for it as you were having too much fun! I had my brother and sister and their families to stay this weekend and here is Uncle Ant teaching the nieces the science and skill of toasting marshmallows.
Tuckered out
It was all a bit much for some of us. Crumble didn't stop chasing a ball for 48 hours straight. He's had the time of his life.
The alphabet has begun!
Youtube is all about the Floral Alphabet this month. We've got a new letter to paint tomorrow! Get your template here and join any time.
