Watercolour Challenge 238: Making colour palettes from reference photos (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, I really hope you enjoyed last week's session on grayscale useful. This week we will take those thoughts of colours in terms of value as well as hue to help us create harmonious colour palettes.
The first half of the video is about swatching, the second half is about how you select a colour palette from those swatches.
I have attached the two reference photos below. Please note that our screens and print outs might give a variation in colour.
Please note, it is a VERY good idea to make a note next to your big swatches of what colours went into the mixes.
You will need
some scraps of watercolour paper to colour swatch
multiple water jars
print offs of the reference photos (or just have them downloaded and on your screen)
Your set of colours. I am not going to dictate which colours to use, this is about a personal choice and helping you get to know your colours.
