Ignore my chat about discord at the beginning and end, it was too big a file to post on there!

When you have a painting adventure there are all sorts of surprises in store: how the new environment will affect the drying time & the paint consistency; how the light and shadows will affect your sight; can you balance all your kit on one knee!

The challenges posed by painting outside can put a lot of us off but I wanted to share my three little postcards with you to show you what I gained from the experience, and how painting with these challenges produced pieces that embody the feel of that holiday and act as lovely reminders of a great week away.

Next time you’re going on a day trip or holiday, pack a little travel kit and you won’t be sorry. The best news is watercolour pans can travel in hand luggage with no issue.

Here is a link to the reading retreat.

Looks like a wonderful place! Glad you were able to be a part of the retreat! Thanks for sharing your paintings and the insights about the climate conditions informing your painting technique - very helpful. The "Reading Bostonians" and the "View From the Pool" are my favorites!😍
