Hi everyone, I’m sat in my room at our Scotland retreat after a morning of painting at Loch Lomond in the crisp cold sunlight and then back to the art room for an afternoon session of leaf painting. The autumn colours are starting to show up and there are plenty of lovely things to paint.

One of my guests crocheted me a highland coo so we have a mascot for the week!

I love coming up for this retreat as it gives me an excuse to have a day in Edinburgh. This time I was staying close to my favourite book shop ‘Toppings and co’. They stocked one of my books which was a real thrill and my favourite author Katherine Randell had been there the day before to launch the second book in her ‘impossible creatures stories.’ I was also staying very close to one of the finest delis in. Edinburgh; Valvona Crolla. You must pay it a visit if you’re at all interested in food!
