From my Camera Roll (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, I have painted for HOURS today because we are getting all our filming done for the festive and new year period. I'm excited to share this camera roll with you!
Facing our Fears
I chose a topic I find particularly difficult - SQUIRRELS - for our watercolour hang out. This session is a really great opportunity to have no fear and try the things you think you're no good at. There is absolutely no need for a perfect finished product. I just filled a page of my new sketchbook with the little critters and by the end I really liked them but I felt pretty unsure throughout. It's just a case of keeping going and there is no method more effective to keep you painting than painting with others. I'll be setting the dates for December's livestreams soon, why not join us if you havent been yet. (wild rose and cherry blossom tiers).
My new obsession
I am hooked on cleaning my jewelry at the moment. Ant has this little ultrasonic cleaner and it's mesmerising to watch the little pieces clean!
Movember
I have managed to fit in a fun November/Movember tutorial this week for the watercolour challenge and we have made a donation to this year's campaign to help with their game-changing work in men’s mental health, innovative medical research, and groundbreaking tests and treatments for prostate cancer and testicular cancer. I hope you enjoy painting some moustaches this week!
Christmas is coming
Next week on Patreon is our last watercolour challenge for the year (3rd December) and we have this lovely Christmas card design for you. There will be livestreams and long form social media tutorials and a special set of filmed tutorials in the time between Christmas and New Year.
The big finale!
Those special tutorials are going to be some mini flowers, finising off the final page and the year's series. We will have two sessions on Patreon and two on Youtube as I would love to encourage more of our Youtube audience over to Patreon. You can expect those from the 28th December when you might be looking for some painting inspiration.
Using up the left over pumpkins
I had to share this delicious recipe with you as I think it's a useful one to have up your sleeve if you are vegetarian or are entertaining vegetarians this festive season Pumpkin Fritti is DELICIOUS! I covered mine in paprika and parmesan and drizzled a bit of honey.
And finally
I set myself a challenge at the beginning of the year to carve out some painting time for ME. I've always wondered what I'm capable of if I'm painting for painting's sake and not teaching or painting for a book/product/commission. It's been hard to prioritise the time but I've managed to find time to play, experiment and grapple...leading to creating three paintings I'm really proud of (this is one of them) and have a few more in progress. I'm finally comfortable sharing them with the world and I thought I should start with my wonderful painting community.
