Hi everyone, welcome to February! January can feel very long but I never want to wish time away; I really enjoyed having a back to basics feel on both Youtube and Patreon with our January output. It’s important to think about colours, mixing and the simplicity of brushstrokes before launching into more complex painting projects. We’ve built great foundations and I’m looking forward to more!

January News

We are finishing off the colour palette series on Youtube with a brief interlude for Valentines Day projects. But we are so lucky to have hundreds of tutorials waiting for you in the Collections - and on Youtube - if you’re ever in need of some painting inspiration.

You Choose Youtube is back! I want to change the name because my intention is to use your suggestions across all platforms (Youtube, Patreon and social media), any snappy title ideas for this slightly adapted feature, I’m all ears! It also means that the content for our livestream classes and watercolour hang outs will also be taken into consideration from your suggestions so there are more opportunities to paint the things you want!

We are giving an amazing 20% discount on the Paint your own calendar range on Etsy. Use the code FEBSALE20 for the discount on the 2025 and 2026 calendars both physical and digital. If you would love to paint a monthly masterpiece that doubles as a handy calendar. It’s full of nature inspired exclusive tutorials that I had so much fun painting.

I recently returned from a very exciting tour around the Daler Rowney Factory, where I learned the fate of my beloved artist watercolour Sap Green! If you love factory tours, huge vats of vibrant colour and seeing ‘how it’s made’ (alongside some jaw dropping revelations about what they used to make colours from hundreds of years ago) then you will really enjoy this! We will be sharing the vlog for the Daisy tier and above on the 11th February. You can easily edit your membership to be able to watch.

I continue to spend much of my time writing/painting my new book. If I can, I will try and share some sneak peeks!

I'm new here, what's the difference between YouTube and Patreon? For other artists I follow we go to YouTube from the link on Patreon. I'm confused.

Beth

I hope so, too!

Still love those pigeons. Need to catchup on monthly challenges. Names options suggestions could be ... Painters Pick. Artists' Choice or select, Which Watercolour?, monthly brush marks, etc

Hi Ann Marie, every Patreon is different, it’s however the creator wants to use it. In my Patreon I have Patreon exclusive tutorials but they are hosted privately on YouTube but can only be watched on Patreon

I have to post them immediately on YouTube channel membership whereas I can schedule them to match coming out at the same time as social media here

Wooohooo! Thanks Harriet!!!
