From My Camera Roll (Patreon)

Hi everyone, we returned from the mountains yesterday having had a big week of mountain air.

Remembering Kala

It's been quite a poignant trip for us because the last time we went skiing our beautiful Husky Kala was taken ill very suddenly while we were away and we had to say goodbye to her very soon afterwards. It's been hard not to blame ourselves for being away when she needed us most and we subsequently kept away from the mountains with some kind of painful superstition - it took a lot to say yes to this trip but it felt like the right moment. When we saw there was an opportunity to go dog sledding it felt like the perfect tribute to her.

I know we have a lot of animal lovers in our Patreon community. These dogs were truly wonderful - I have so many photos and videos of them on my phone!

Painting in the mountains

Book deadlines don't really allow for ski trips so I took my painting kit with me and managed to paint another chapter of the new book. Splitting my time between painting and skiing was rather wonderful!

Colours on Youtube

After a Valentines card tutorial interlude we are heading back into our colour palette series with Greens and Turquoises on Youtube this week. The timing of this is perfect because...

Sap Green Mission!

On Patreon this week we've got a special vlog in place of the Wednesday Watercolour Challenge where you can come with me into the Daler Rowney Factory and see some amazing behind the scenes of how paint and art materials are made...and I see if I can get some more sap green!
