Hi everyone, I've been hard at work this week, solo parenting Crumble while Ant was in Dublin. Therefore there arent many photos beyond the four walls of my office. That's not to say that there isnt an extremely exciting bit of news if you read on!

You Rock!

I painted so many valentines card tutorials but none of them would do for Ant as he knew they had all been painted for work! At the eleventh hours (literally) I had a little flash of inspiration. There's a very funny storyline on Sesame Street about Elmo's disdain for a rock called Rocco. Some things you just can't explain too well - you just have to watch - but it really makes us laugh so I made this card in honour of Elmo.

Livestreams!

We had a hang out and a class this week on the livestream and I had so much fun painting badgers and this macaw (which we did the whole piece in just primary colours). You can watch the recordings back any time (Wild Rose and Cherry Blossom tier)

A new co-worker

Crumble never spends time in my office, I spent last week coaxing him up here with a newly instated bowl of dog biscuits on my desk. Now I can't get rid of him - a number of you will have heard him clamouring for biscuits in the livestream class yesterday!

Black and Blue

On Youtube this week we have more colour palette videos. We've only got one more after these two! These sessions have been so useful to me; swatching, mixing and really getting to know the colours, remembering old tutorials that showcase each colour and ultimately deciding if it's still a good colour to have in the palette. I hope you've also enjoyed them.

BIG NEWS for drawing

We have a new Watercolour Challenge project coming on Wednesday, it's a new take on the Seasonal Botanical paintings we did a few years ago. This time I want to tell the story of two Bullfinches through little illustrations with a patchwork border - it's going to be so pretty.

For a long time I've been asked if I can provide line drawing templates for my tutorials. I have resisted up until now because it is a time consuming process to create the files and I'm always hopeful I can get you drawing through the filmed tutorial alone.

With a continued demand for more help with drawing I've finally worked out a way to give those of you who would like drawing guides what you need.

For future watercolour challenges - 270 onwards - I will provide an accompanying post with a PDF line drawing download for the Watercolour Challenges.

Sweet Pea tier members can opt to buy the individual line drawing downloads on a case by case basis. The minimum amount Patreon allows me to sell a post for is £3 plus VAT. I know there are some of you who don't need these and therefore you don't need to do anything, keep going as normal - I will still be teaching the drawing in the videos as usual.

I have an alternative option for those of you who want line drawing downloads on a regular basis and don't want to spend that much each time. I am going to include line drawing downloads as standard on the Wild Rose and Cherry Blossom tier for no extra cost which works out as better value for money over time. You also get the chance to join the livestream sessions on these tiers!

We've thought long and hard for the best way to do this and feel happy that this option gives everyone what they would like and the best chance to enjoy drawing and painting which is what this is all about!

Harriet sometime back I saw a video you did where you cut out greeting cards and you showed how to score and fold greeting cards. I thought I’d saved it but I can’t find it. What was it called?

I have so loved the palette color videos. Seeing you featured work for each color has re-inspired the way I look at my own colors.
