Hi everyone, I hope you're well, I've had a fun week performing with my choir and trying out a very special new art product!

Spring is Sprung!

On Tuesday we are painting this lovely Spring Lamb. I used to find lambs very difficult to draw until I really studied their faces- it's something about how wide the bridge of the nose and eyes are that makes all the difference.

Going Green

Following the very popular palette series on Youtube I've decided to do some fun grid studies of each colour group, finding images that celebrate a colour and painting them in a grid of four. The video is both inspirational and instructional. My hope is it will spark the idea of finding your own images to paint that celebrate that week's colour!

Singing Together

This is the view from the choir seating that looks down on Exeter Cathedral. This was the afternoon rehearsal, it looked magical all lit up at night with a full house. Singing is a precious change of scene for me and a great work out for some mental muscles that often lie dormant!

THAT ceramic palette

The question I have been asked SO MANY TIMES on social media is where did I get my little ceramic palette??! It was a palette I bought from a local ceramicist in Portugal, years ago and I searched for her company name for a while but with no luck. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a part time ceramicist and it dawned on us that we could create and design our own to my exact spec! This is one of the early prototypes and you will see it pop up in the coming months' social media tutorials. It may look very simple, but there are many tiny details in the thickness, the size of the wells the depth etc, the glaze and decoration (which cant be seen from this angle). We're also adding a brush rest. The plan is to produce a limited run of these sweet little palettes and you will be the first to hear about it when they go on sale. Chocolate eggs not included!

Hi Harriet, love your lamb! And the prototype pallet is awesome, I wanted to add a thought, which is based on my very limited experience with water colors, and you may completely disagree, but I always have issues with run-away-brushes. I put them down, they roll, or get stuck under my kit. I thought in your ceramic pallet if you made the largest well smaller and created an open sided well at the end, sort of like a gully, that would hold brushes laid down would be good. Or something to keep the brushes available and still?

Hi Betsi, you might actually notice I said 'We're also adding a brush rest' so dont worry!

Can’t wait to “grab my paints” and get started on that lamb!

I have noticed another pallet you have stamped with your initials which has larger spaces- do you recall where you got that one?

Mary Kay

That’s also made by my friend, but that was a Christmas present to me!

Would love to have one of those little pallets! Have also been looking for them online with no success.

I do love a grid, and what a fun way to explore a color palette. Your net bag is so full of curves and movement, and the spools of thread … love it.

I would love one of those small palettes. They are so sweet. I even looked online for one but couldn't one. I'm sure they'd do well.
