Hi everyone, a very warm welcome to April. I walked Crumble in the woods yesterday and felt fairly euphoric with the wonderful combination of bright sunshine, blue skies and relative warmth! I'm not a huge fan of April fools but I wanted to share this very heartwarming one which I wish was true- created by some friends of ours who volunteer for Dartmoor Search and Rescue. March has been a lovely month where the hard work that’’s been put into all the current projects have been broken up with some lovely days out and much needed days off. I’m really excited to share some of my painting adventures this month - it’s so much easier to contemplate painting outside when it’s not freezing cold!

Our News

If you’re in need of seasonal content I've created a new collection for Spring and Easter themed content here on Patreon.

I’ve just handed in batch 2 of my latest book! It feels like a big moment! It’s not completely done until the end of May but I’m taking a few weeks away from it to complete a separate project and take a retreat to Portugal!

I went to London for a day of fun with one of my best friends, we had afternoon tea at the Anya Cafe on the Anya Hindmarch street and went to see ‘Oh Mary!’ That’s transferred from Broadway, have any of you seen it?

I taught a lovely watercolour workshop at everyone’s favourite French restaurant Le Vin Perdu! We had a lovely time and it was so nice to have some Patrons attending.

I performed in a concert production of Handel’s Solomon with my choir in Exeter Cathedral. Singing is surprisingly tiring but brings such a euphoric sense of achievement!

My knee injury from skiing in February is testing my patience with its slow but steady improvement. I’m trying to remember how lucky I am that it wasn’t any worse, even when sulking that I can’t run around a tennis court just yet! At least I’m getting some time for golf which is way easier on the knee.

We had a great day at Westonbirt Arboretum and Lacock Abbey which both embodied early spring in a quintessentially British manner. You can watch the vlog here. The houses of Lacock were particularly inspiring and I’m really excited to have a go at painting those. You will see some of those sketches popping up on social media this month!
