I’m so excited to be hosting TWO very special painting retreats in Spring/Summer 2027. After announcing our South Africa Safari Retreat, I’m now delighted to finally share details of our June retreat to Ireland; a completely different kind of inspiration, filled with dramatic landscapes, wild flowers, charming villages and endless opportunities for painting together in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.
Our home for the week
I am very excited to invite you to join me in County Monaghan, Ireland for a week-long painting retreat hosted by Uptrek June 30th – July 7th 2027.
Together, we’ll spend a week painting within one of Ireland’s most magnificent historic estates, surrounded by heritage woodland, private lakes, formal gardens and beautiful old cottages. This retreat is all about slowing down, immersing ourselves creatively and painting in an inspiring and romantic setting. Throughout the week we’ll focus on:
Botanical still life arrangements
Garden scenes
Simple country cottages
Simple, atmospheric landscapes
Plein air sketching and painting
By the end of the retreat, you’ll have created your own frame-worthy compositions alongside pages and pages of painting practice, experimentation and memories from the week.
Explore the venue and choose a room
Most importantly, this is a chance to completely immerse yourself in painting with a wonderful group of like-minded people. These retreats have the potential to be truly life-changing friendships are formed so quickly when we spend time creating together.

Inspiring excursions to Monaghan Town’s weekly farmers’ market and a day painting and sketching on location at the historic Castle Leslie Estate.

I warmly welcome painters of all abilities, though it’s helpful to already have a grasp of basic watercolour techniques.
If you’re completely new to watercolour, I’d recommend exploring some of the tutorials on my YouTube channel before the retreat to help familiarise yourself with the medium.
This retreat is perfect for solo travellers or friends and family travelling together. If you're someone who loves the romance of the Irish countryside and their vibrant culture. The group size is for 17 guests.
To paint in the romantic setting of this magnificent Irish estate truly feels like a dream come true. If you love painting as much as I do, then this is the ultimate place to feel inspired creatively.
