I'm exploring the possibility of hosting something rather special in Mallorca, and before I take things any further, I'd love to know if it's something that would genuinely interest you.

The concept would be a watercolour retreat on the beautiful west coast of Mallorca, combining sailing, painting and plenty of time to unwind.

The experience would begin with three nights aboard a premium catamaran, staying in private ensuite cabins while sailing along the coastline. The yacht would be fully crewed, with a chef preparing meals on board, so the focus would be entirely on soaking up the scenery, painting and relaxing.

After that, we'd move ashore for two or three nights at a stunning luxury villa, where there would be space to slow down even further, paint, explore and enjoy the landscape.

I'd be teaching plein air watercolour throughout the trip, both on the yacht and on land. We'd capture everything from dramatic seascapes and Mediterranean landscapes to native plants and flowers, with plenty of sketchbook time along the way.

At this early stage, estimated pricing would likely range from approximately £1,950–£3,700 per person depending on cabin and accommodation options.

This is very much an idea I'm testing at the moment, so I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts:

⛵ Would a sailing and painting retreat appeal to you?🎨 What would excite you most about an experience like this?💭 Is the price range something you'd realistically consider for a once-in-a-lifetime creative holiday?

Let me know in the comments; your feedback will help me decide whether to take the next steps with planning.

My husband and I are interested! Would I have to be able to draw though? I don’t do that well, hahaha. Would the catamaran occasionally stop at places along the way?

So…. You KNOW what a fan I am of yours AND of your workshops! This idea sounds heavenly! And yet….My personal concerns would be personal: seasickness? Rainy or windy weather ruining a day or two of painting? The price point sounds great for what you’re offering, and I think I would choose a different workshop.

Phyllis

I think you’d sell out quickly!

Louise

This sounds like an incredible experience! Sleeping on a catamaran? Yes please. Price point seems reasonable given the luxury level described and experience overall.

Laura Albright

For people like me who love being on the water this sounds wonderful!! The prices sound very reasonable too.

Ana Morales

Yes. I would definitely sign up. And the price sounds quite reasonable

Dawn Roberts

You guys are living the dream...yes I would absolutely live something like this..first sure..

Michelle W.

I would be 100% in, but I lack the funds. I love being on the ocean.

Elly T

Sounds like a wonderful retreat and the price seems reasonable for an experience like this.

Ilyana

That would be amazing.

Kristin

I unfortunately get very bad sea sickness so it would be best for everyone if I didn't attend. It sounds lovely though and I'm sure it would be a big hit. Price seems reasonable.

Yes! Count me in! Sounds great💗 price is good, the idea of learning more about pleinair painting , love it!!!

Ann

I love the idea. As long as it isn't too hot. As you know fair skinned redhead lol.

Erin Berlin

UnfortInnately your retreats are way too far and costly for me at this time. Waiting for a US based one. ;)

Max

I’d love to! As long as the cabins weren’t too small…How many people would the yacht accommodate?

Jenny

It sounds great but I would be worried about being seasick as I don’t have great sea legs!

Kathryn Chandler

It sounds wonderful . I love Mallorca and sailing but I wonder if it might be better to sleep ashore and go for day trips - just a thought . Us older ladies might prefer the bathroom / shower facilities on land . Obvs that is from a purely personal point of view . I am sure you will easily fill up with younger and more agile bright young things than me !! Good luck with you planning . PS Would love to go on a cheaper break somewhere in the UK sometime . Cost of flying I think is going to go up considerably .

Gigi

Hi Harriet, Any place near water is a plus for me. It have heard of the paint and sail retreats but with you as my teacher I would really enjoy this. Not sure how complicated it would be for folks from the states to connect and start the trip but it sounds wonderful!

Kim Parris

I would sign up in a heartbeat!!

Holly Geary Brooks

I love this idea...very fresh and new!! The price point is lower than your land retreats so that is very appealing. As a lifelong boater, I think it would be a fabulous experience and would certainly take me out of my painting "comfort zone" by being on a moving vessel with an ever-changing scenery. Catamarans are wonderfully "stable" so it wouldn't feel like being on another type of recreational boat with the rocking and bouncing you might typically experience. I'm always up for something new so count me in for sure!!!

Sounds wonderful but I have already committed to ur safari retreat for 2027! If u consider it for 2028… I’m in! And as others have eluded to, w/ SO MANY followers in the states, I pray u can find a venue closer to home and easier for travel for us!

Andrea

I think your idea sounds amazing. Although as some others have mentioned I personally suffer from a bit of seasickness so I’m more likely to go for land based when funds are better.

Sharon Rowe

Sounds dreamy, and I think the price range is good. As others have shared, I am also very sensitive to seasickness so I wouldn’t be a good companion. My guess is many would find this very appealing. 🩵💙🩵

Michaeleen

I would really be interested. I would love to see a bit of the Mediterranean. The sailing sounds fun. Where would we fly into. I live in MN USA

Ann

I also like the idea suggested for a city break. Painting in kew gardens would be 👌 x

Kuljit Jandoo

This sounds so lovely and at the lower price range, I might actually be able to do it 😊

Ilyana

Could we have just an idea of when this would happen? I may be in Spain next year and wondering if I could do this while I’m there.

It's very early days so I'm not even sure yet. I just am trying to work out if it's something that would be of interest to people, which it seems like it is! As soon as I know I will let you know.

Joni

A retreat like this sounds fabulous!! Water and watercoloring are my two favorite things! The cost is not too high for me, but the timing (what week you pick) will be my deciding factor. Fingers crossed that it works for me!!

Teresa Lavenue

Yea I would be interested in such a retreat

Holly Owen

I would go in a heartbeat. Can someone go who uses a cane? No hikes for me but sailing and painting are winners...

Phyllis

I would love love love this !

Ángela López

Hi Harriet, water is my element, but unfortunately, the retreats are too costly. My salary is not high enough to save, so I will have to wait for you to do something in Andalucía, mostly Granada or Sevilla. May God help! Love
