Hi everyone, you will have seen this quick cut tutorial on social media. As per usual, Patrons get the longer version!

This is part of the Summer Postcard series. I think these would be amazing summer party invitations too! The focus is on an easy, breezy vibe which is reflected in the naive, undetailed painting approach. I'm using a brush that's just a bit larger than is comfortable and by doing that it creates these slightly childish paintings. The other key thing is unpainted space. Leave little bits unpainted here and there on your illustrations and the charm factor goes through the roof!

You will need:

Cold Pressed watercolour Paper post car size 10.5 x 14.8cm

Colours I used: Opera Rose, Pyrrol Orange, Alizarin Crimson, Aqua Green, Hansa Yellow Medium, Permanent Orange, Paynes Grey, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, Ivory Black, French Ultramarine

Brushes I used: Pointed round size 8, 4, 2, 0

Fine line pen
