Hi everyone, this is a tutorial showing you how to make the origami card I recently made, but I've painted it with an end of year, thank you teacher theme as that had also been requested. You could turn this card into absolutely any theme you wanted, but the key to success is SIMPLICITY as you will be repeating these painted illustrations around the card and on all sides if you like. You could also experiment with cheaper/thinner watercolour paper as it will be easier to fold. Although this tutorial is done with my regular 300gsm cotton paper and it's fine as long as you have access to a scalpel and cutting mat.

Please take care if using a scalpel. Remember that a new, sharper blade is actually much safer than a blunt one.

You will need: (excuse the noise in this bit, the tractor in the next field had started cutting the grass!!)

Watercolour paper (mine is 8x8 inches) Try out thinner paper

Cutting mat

metal ruler

scalpel

hb pencil

hard and soft erasers

pointed round brushes 0,2,4

Colours I used: Hansa Yellow Medium, Yellow ochre, opera rose, pyrrol orange, ivory black, cerulean blue red shade, french ultramarine blue, sap green, organic vermillion, alizarin Crimson, Green Gold, Burnt Sienna

Don't forget to share your work on social media (tag me @dewintonpaperco) and on Discord.
