Hi everyone, you will have seen this quick cut video on social media. As per usual, Patrons get the longer version to give you painting inspiration!

This is part of the Summer Postcard series. I think these would be amazing summer party invitations too! The focus is on an easy, breezy vibe which is reflected in the naive, undetailed painting approach. I'm using a brush that's just a bit larger than is comfortable and by doing that it creates these slightly childish paintings. The other key thing is unpainted space. Leave little bits unpainted here and there on your illustrations and the charm factor goes through the roof!

You will need:

Cold Pressed watercolour Paper post car size 10.5 x 14.8cm

Colours I used: Organic Vermillion, French Ultramarine Bule, Cerulean Blue Red Shade, Yellow Ochre, Hansa Yellow Medium, Permanent Rose, Sap Green, Paynes Grey, Burnt Sienna, Green Gold, Ivory Black

Brushes I used: Pointed round size 2, 0

white paint

Love that you are helping us celebrate our 250th birthday here! You captured much of our typical menu Harriet. Years ago when my kids were little we made a patriotic jello mold and put flags in the middle of it. Love the Statue of Liberty which was a gift from France. We often make potato salad and deviled eggs. A Chicago hot dog never has ketchup on it but it has bright green relish, mustard and onions if one wants onions. It is on a poppy seed bun. Another Chicago favorite is Italian beef sandwich with cooked green peppers on top on a special bun. I will paint them when I do this card and will post it! Thank you for wishing us a wonderful weekend! It will be 100 degrees here unfortunately. Boo!
