The Ultimate Tuscan Painting Experience: Join Me in Italy 2027 (Patreon)
Content
Join me for an inspiring watercolour retreat in the warm, sunlit hills of Tuscany where we will be painting a brand new subject: characterful buildings, simple architectural details and lovely landscapes that give Tuscany it's character.
A whole week to experiment, learn and play and Patrons are finding out 24 hours earlier than the general public.
September 25 - October 2, 2027 Vaggio, Tuscany, Italy
My new Tuscany painting retreat is all about exploring the character, texture and charm of rustic buildings in watercolour and you don’t need to have painted buildings before. On Patreon we have a handful of lovely building tutorials; if you've enjoyed those and want to do more, then this is perfect for you!
Rather than trying to work it all out on your own, you’ll have a whole week to experiment, learn and play with the different things that make buildings so fascinating to paint: rustic facades, weathered walls, terracotta pots with italian vines and plants intertwined…I can't wait!
You’ll need to be comfortable with watercolour already, but if you’ve always looked at beautiful old buildings and thought “I’d love to be able to paint that…”, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a go.
Take part in daily classes inside the studio and outside, around the grounds. I give plenty of hands-on feedback and personalised advice, as well as many demonstrations and one-to-one time.
It’s a chance to step outside your usual watercolour subjects, spend a week immersed in creativity, and discover whether painting buildings might become your new favourite thing.
Beyond the studio, you will venture to San Gimignano, a UNESCO-listed medieval hilltop town whose towers, stonework, and weathered facades bring the architectural richness of the retreat to life, and to Frantoio Pasquini, a four-generation olive oil mill in the nearby hills of Reggello.
The retreat welcomes all levels of experience, though you’ll benefit most if you already have some familiarity with watercolour.
This is also an opportunity to combine a love of painting plants with this new medium. We can try terracotta pots full of flowers, or creeping vines on crumbling walls.
Our wonderful venue features elegant accommodation, lush gardens, a private lake, a spacious art studio, an outdoor pool, and scenic views of Tuscany. Indulge in authentic Italian cuisine, take part in a wine tasting experience on the venue grounds, and enjoy the lovely company of fellow creatives. I have guests who come alone, or with a friend. It's such a warm and welcoming environment, we will have a lovely time together.
