Hi everyone, welcome to October! I’ve had a very busy September spending more time than I’d like on admin and shipping regulations - it’s felt far too much like work and I’ve felt the need to paint for pleasure even more than usual. October is always a creative and fun month with the many seasonal inspirations so it’s come around just in time.

News

Our Halloween Painting Challenge starts on the 19th October. There is still time to purchase the download/hardcopy/full kit on Etsy and de Winton Paper co.

We will be officially opening our Christmas shop this month, we’ve got a lovely new ‘paint your own christmas cards’ kit that will be fun to do with painters of all ages and abilities, as well as bringing back our new improved beginner kits which will be a great Christmas present for anyone wanting to get started with watercolour. There are two brand new Christmas card ranges coming too! Paying Patrons will get early access and a discount when the shop opens!

Ant spent a week in Finland observing and photographing the native wildlife. I had a look at his wonderful photos of bears, birds and wolves amongst others and I am so inspired to have a go painting them. We will certainly introduce a few of those into our projects in the coming months.

I am really enjoying seeing your Tiny Autumn Treasure paintings, they are going to continue with 2-3 a week with a pause for the halloween challenge. They will then resume as we go through November, ending before we begin Advent! If you would like to paint along with the long form versions you can find them all on the Daisy tier and above.

I spotted that my new book has appeared on Amazon, now ready for pre order…the curious among you can see it here. This is a UK amazon link but it’s worth searching the book title online - copy and paste 'Watercolour Every Day by Harriet de Winton' to see if you can pre order it from a place of your preference.

Livestream Dates and Times

I am in the UK on British Summer Time (BST) but from the 24th October our clocks change (going back one hour) to Greenwich Mean time (GMT). Please use this to help work out your timezone. https://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

Watercolour Hang out Dates (Cherry Blossom, Wild Rose) There had been talk of a halloween hang out, however, my nephew’s birthday is on Halloween and we’ve said we’re going to go and stay with them for the weekend so I’m afraid we will have to make do with hang outs in the weeks approaching.

Teri Sturtevant

Congratulations on the new book. I'm looking forward to receiving it. ❤️

Hello @harriet, it seems there is no more issue with customs to send paper stuff to France. Could you please check? I would like to buy your Xmas template. Thx

Susan Morrison

I now have your new book in my library and hope to have some time soon to begin. I am really looking forward to it, and I decided I want to do every tutorial in there and paint up a storm! Thank you Harriet for sharing your wonderful creativity and talent with us.
