Hi everyone, I am back from Greece and extremely tired so it's going to be slow transition back into work. I enjoyed some gentle painting this morning for our week's filming.
We did some lovely painting in Greece, my group were so wonderful I'm extremely grateful to them; I know some have become new patrons this week so an extra special welcome! Thank you also to Iris who was a brilliant photographer throughout the trip and captured some lovely images whilst also painting!
Sunshine and Shadow
While in Greece we had quite a lot of time painting outside which presented a few creative surprises. Only last week, one of my Patrons made a suggestion to do some shadow painting and all of a sudden we found ourselves in the perfect position to try it in Greece!
Painting together
This photo of nearly everyone on the trip is us just after completing a fun new creative challenge to paint this table cloth. I rolled brown paper along a table, told everyone to bring their paints and a large brush and to just have some fun. We would shuffle a few spaces to our left every few minutes so all the paintings became a communal effort, noone need feel worried about painting alone or get too precious about their piece. It was a lot of fun and another new thing I tried on this trip. I will definitely be doing this again!
Painting companions
I finally had a four legged painting companion! There were so many inquisitive cats on Zakinthos. Many strays that I didnt touch but was happy if they happened to sit near, and then a few pet cats at the venue - Tom and Margaret. They were a lovely addition to the week.
On Youtube this week
This is a bit of masking fluid magic - a folk art inspired card for Tuesday on Youtube.
Skeleton Party!
On Patreon we have a one session watercolour challenge before we launch into the Halloween Daily Painting challenge next week! I know halloween isnt for everyone so I was happy to create something that is a bit seasonal but also a useful study in how the body and skeleton can be simply draw and painted.
Water Control...but make it Spooky!
This little ghost wreath is on Youtube on Thursday - a great exercise in water and blending control while also being pretty fun and seasonal. So many of you enjoyed last year's halloween wreath (which you can still find on the youtube channel) I thought it would be fun to do a new one for this year.
