Dear Sweet Peas, here is my first sketch book tour, giving you a closer look at some of my recent paintings. Using the term sketch book is possibly a little misleading as you will see from the video I choose to paint on scraps of loose paper as opposed to an actual book!

This breakdown of my process - including the various components of my Christmas card designs - will hopefully offer you a little bit of reassurance that the creative process can be intimidating however experienced you are.

I filmed this last week before embarking on my latest large commission which I painted on Instagram stories on Monday and Tuesday. It's titled 'Picket Fence House' on my story highlights but I have attached a photo of the finished result if you haven't seen it yet!

I hope you're having a good weekend, see you soon for the next challenge!

Thank you so much for this video! I am learning how to use photoshop for my watercolours and would love to print some cards or wrapping paper. My scans are often faint or don't show the colours properly though, have you got any tips on getting good scans? And could I also ask who you go to to print your designs? Thank you!

It's something I do a lot of and we've been planning a video on this for ages but it's always fallen to the bottom of the pile. But in the meantime I can tell you I also 'scan' by taking a photo of it on my iPhone and uploading it to photoshop. It's worked brilliantly so far!

Hi Harriet, you mention a link to a lightbox in your sketchbook tour but I can't see it! Sorry if I'm just being a bit blind.. please can you point me in the direction, thanks, Mandy x

Thanks Harriet, much appreciated. I had been looking at light boxes so was interested in knowing which was were good, there are so many aren't there to choose from :)

Yes it can be a bit overwhelming. My recommendations are to go for a3 even if you paint on a fairly small scale. And to make sure there is no raised frame around the edge. My first light box was a bit like a picture frame and it was so discruptive not to have a completely flat surface
