Hi everyone, welcome to our new patrons!

Well done in embracing last week's loose watercolour approach. We are hopping back and forth between styles to keep us sharp and today we are starting a detailed rose painting tutorial.

We're painting an Ambridge Rose (images attached) and today is all about getting that perfect pencil drawing prior to painting.

My paper here is 21cm square and the tape roll I used is 5.5cm in diameter.

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

some watercolour paper

a pencil

some smallish round objects to draw around

After watching the video...

Download the attached images so you have them for reference.

Draw along with the watercolour challenge. After having a go at the first rose,  and see how you get on!

Share your pieces on instagram using #dwpcchallenge and tag me @dewintonpaperco. And please do have a look at everyone else's interpretations of the brief (search the hashtag and you will see all the patreon insta posts from everyone in here) and celebrate each other's work. We learn from seeing how others interpret a single brief so a community encourages progres

We now have Discord to be able to share images of your work so please feel free to share your painting and how you got on on there in the gallery and forum gallery. If you prefer to share your work on Instagram, use the #dwpcchallenge and tag me @dewintonpaperco.

Have a wonderful week.

This was incredibly helpful since I've never been able to draw anything. I'm going to try it!

Yesterday I was able to go to dwpc inDiscord thru the link you posted earlier. I am no longer able to get in. When I try Duscord promotes me to create a new account.

I’ve just joined and the earliest post is watercolour challenge 35, where are the watercolour challenges prior to this?
