Hi everyone, and a very warm welcome to our new patrons!

This is the second part of painting a detailed Ambridge Rose (see Watercolour challenge 35 to start from the beginning) and today is all about painting the roses!

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

Your drawing from last week

a rubber

paint, colours I used: Burnt Sienna, French Ultramarine Blue, Permanent Rose, Cadmium Orange, Alizarin Crimson

brushes

jar of water

kitchen roll to blot the brush

After watching the video...

Lightly rub your pencil lines out so you can still the lines but they are more faint.

Paint along with the watercolour challenge. After having a go at the first rose,  and see how you get on!

Share your pieces on instagram using #dwpcchallenge and tag me @dewintonpaperco. And please do have a look at everyone else's interpretations of the brief (search the hashtag and you will see all the patreon insta posts from everyone in here) and celebrate each other's work. We learn from seeing how others interpret a single brief so a community encourages progres

We now have Discord to be able to share images of your work so please feel free to share your painting and how you got on on there in the gallery and forum gallery. If you prefer to share your work on Instagram, use the #dwpcchallenge and tag me @dewintonpaperco.

Have a wonderful week.

I started painting these roses yesterday. This is my first experience. So exciting!

Hi Harriet, where can I find stage one of this Rose watercolor challenge? You start this video saying: welcome to stage two .... and so on. So I assume there is a stage one where you show how to draw the rose I suppose? Thanks in advance.

Hi Denise, Stage one is watercolour challenge 35. You can search through the watercolour challenges by searching the 'watercolour challenge' tag

Thanks for the very quick answer, Harriet. Even so I've read the description below this video I didn't see that you even stated that the start is challenge 35. Sometimes I wonder.....:-) Thanks.
