Re-posting Welcome to Discord for new members (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, back in May I set up a de Winton Paper co Discord server for the Sweet Pea and Cherry Blossom tiers as an additional platform for you to share your work. Many of you are on there and are enjoying lively painting discussion, celebrating each other's paintings and creative progress. It is also proving a very useful forum for thoughts on the different painting materials we are using.
I wanted to re post this for anyone who hasn't joined yet. Below it shows you how to do it.
I would also welcome any Patron's comment below with helpful tips on how to join as some people had a few issues getting set up.
Let me first say that nothing will change regarding posting all the content and watercolour challenges here on patreon. Discord is purely set up for you to share the results of your painting. This is an optional extra.
Discord is a separate program/app that you can have on your computer and mobile device. It is essentially a live chat room.
Don't worry. I'm a bit scared of tech and I have managed to set this up. I'm already really enjoying it and I know you will too.
As a Patron it is very simple for you to join the Discord server as Patreon does all the work for you.
All you need to do is follow the instructions in this Patreon article.
This will take you through creating a Discord account, installing it and connecting it to your Patreon account. Once that is done, Patreon will automatically connect you to the Discord de Winton Paper co server where you will able to share your pictures, questions and comments and enjoy a more interactive experience in a private environment.
This is all entirely brand new so there might be a couple of teething problems but we will work it out as a community. I have seen that some of you are already Discord users and Patreon has automatically added you to the de Winton Paper co patreon server so I know this works!
