Just so everyone can catch their breath (I feel like I'm putting out so much content at the moment I dont want you to feel overwhelmed) I've got one last little challenge for our Cheetah painting.

It's a useful exercise in learning how best to add a background once the subject in the foreground has been painted. For some people this is the order in which they prefer to do their paintings and provided the background is simple, it can be really effective. I was also inspired by some of your paintings from last week with backgrounds!

Welcome to all our new Patrons, I hope you're finding your way around my Patreon ok. Don't forget, you can always send me a message if you have any specific questions. Discord is by far the best place for comments and tips on any paintings you've done as a result of the watercolour challenges as you can post your pictures and see how each other are getting on.

If you are new to painting then I highly recommend going back to the first watercolour challenges and working through the first through to get your basic techniques going. Then you can pick and choose whatever you like!

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

Your painting from last time.

Your usual watercolour set. Colours I used: Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Sap Green, French Ultramarine Blue, Paynes Grey

a pencil and a ruler

After watching the video...

Draw and paint your cheetah background following the guidelines in the video.

Please share your finished pieces either on instagram, using the hashtag #dwpcchallenge, as well as sharing on Discord so we can all celebrate your painting highs, lows and discoveries together!

Have a wonderful week.

Wow it means I finished mine last week? Because I added green plants and background at once :) Well... It's great anyway and thank you, Harriet a looot! :)

Me too Elena!! Already done a background on mine, although I did it first! 🤣 So maybe I will get time to do the campfire painting, which looks great fun. Thank Harriet.

Yes! Well you can either try it out with a new cheetah painting or have a bit of a break this week!

perfect! It's good to take the foot off the pedal sometimes if there are past tutorials you haven't had time for previously.

Yeah I missed some tutorials so I would better paint them 😁
