Here we have a new pet portrait tutorial and some new challenges to face: white fur and an awkward face-on angle. Have a go and see how you get on. There is a reference photo too!

I am going to be having a Christmas break for two weeks which means next week's watercolour challenge will be the last one before the week beginning 3rd January 2022. This is why I'm giving you some fairly detailed tutorials to chip away at over the Christmas break if you need a bit of quiet time from all the festivities (or of course if you don't celebrate Christmas and you're waiting for those who do to get back to work!)

This is our last dog painting, we are going to move on to some other four legged favourites.

Welcome to all our new Patrons, I hope you're finding your way around my Patreon ok. Don't forget, you can always send me a message if you have any specific questions. Discord is by far the best place for comments and tips on any paintings you've done as a result of the watercolour challenges as you can post your pictures and see how each other are getting on.

If you are new to painting then I highly recommend going back to the first watercolour challenges and working through the first through to get your basic techniques going. Then you can pick and choose whatever you like!

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

watercolour paper

your regular watercolour kit, colours I used: Yellow Ochre, Permanent Rose,  Mars Black, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Grey, French Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue

pencil and rubber

After watching the video...

Draw and paint along with me!

I am so excited to see your paintings! Have a wonderful week. Dont forget to share your pieces on Instagram and Discord!

This is lovely. I tried but my drawing is terribly off. It would be nice to have a drawing template along with your tutorials for those who just love watercolor and are better painting than drawing. 😊
