Hi everyone! Today we are taking the next steps in painting simple figures to place into a loose watercolour landscape composition.

Welcome to all our new Patrons, I hope you're finding your way around my Patreon ok. Don't forget, you can always send me a message if you have any specific questions. Discord is by far the best place for comments and tips on any paintings you've done as a result of the watercolour challenges as you can post your pictures and see how each other are getting on.

If you are new to painting then I highly recommend going back to the first watercolour challenges and working through the first through to get your basic techniques going. Then you can pick and choose whatever you like!

This is the book I talk about being a great help for me in starting out drawing people.

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

Some pieces of watercolour paper

a pencil

Your usual watercolour kit

Have a wonderful week! I cant wait to see you share your pieces online on Discord or on Instagram, don't forget to tag me so I can see them!

Ah Jane, it's a whole new approach isn't it. Well I think you've got to be kind to yourself and think of this more as an exploration rather than getting something 'right'. So many of my people that I draw feel very strange but it's because the pencil is really the bare minimum just to get a feel for proportions. Then the paintbrush is fleshing it out but the most important thing is to remember that the eye of the beholder is doing half the work and making up the details. Just keep going but dont force it. If you're not feeling it walk away and come back another time. Dont forget these tutorials are here for whenever xxx

I'm not used to painting people! I can't quite make their positions look real! x

It's definitely something new for me too! It's a new challenge and one that will come with practise a little and often
