We are painting the Snowdrops today! There is a reference photo attached here.

We apologise for the low level crackle on the audio for the first six minutes, the microphone was misbehaving!

Welcome to all our new Patrons, I hope you're finding your way around my Patreon ok. Don't forget, you can always send me a message if you have any specific questions. Discord is by far the best place for comments and tips on any paintings you've done as a result of the watercolour challenges as you can post your pictures and see how each other are getting on.

If you are new to painting then I highly recommend going back to the first watercolour challenges and working through the first through to get your basic techniques going. Then you can pick and choose whatever you like.

This is a private youtube link which only you sweet pea and cherry blossom patrons have access to.

You will need

Your drawing from last week

pencil and eraser

Your usual watercolour kit (I talk through what brushes and colours we use in the video)

After watching the video...

Don't forget to share your paintings and works in progress on Discord and on Instagram using the #dwpcchallenge. By sharing your work you can ask questions of me or your fellow painters and inspire others to get painting!

I haven't been able to paint along yet, but have so enjoyed watching the process and seeing things we don't have in central Indiana, USA. Thanks so much, Harriet, for these wonder-ful tutorials! Question: Challenge 120 was the Cobnuts (new plant to me - so cute!)and this Challenge 121 is the Snowdrops, but the video thumbnail shows the Pussy Willow branch already painted. Did I miss that tutorial somewhere? Thanks!

No don't worry that one is coming next week! I just did a few painting tutorials in one session.

Thanks! Looking forward to it!

A little suggestion for anyone who isn’t happy with one element of your composition. I really love this piece and each part of it except for my snow drops. I didn’t want to repaint the whole piece so I took a piece of watercolor paper and painted the snow drops again then I repeated one of the cob nuts (hazelnuts) to make it look intentional. Cut down the two items and placed them on top of my piece and drew the border over the new elements. It gives it a bit of a scrapbook vibe and it actually looks nice! Hope this helps someone not to trash their whole piece. 😁❤️
