Getting over fear of the blank page: Watercolour Hang out Sketch Book Tour (Patreon)
Content
**Our next watercolour hang out is tomorrow (Sunday 20th August at 6pm BST). I've just shared the zoom details in the wild rose and cherry blossom tier. You can edit your membership any time in your Patreon account page if you want to join us!**
Hi everyone, we've had a few months of my newest feature, the Watercolour Hangout, and I thought I would show you what we've been doing. I've been filling a sketchbook with the paintings from each section and I'm taking so much delight from this feature.
The Watercolour Hang out is a 1.5 hour livestream on zoom that happens twice a month at different times to ensure as many people can make at least one. In the session we have a go at painting three photos based around a theme. There is no teaching from me, we are all just having a go together and there is no pressure to complete the paintings or share your work at the end, it's all about giving yourself permission to paint and take some time for yourself.
If you're not free, I record my painting screen and post that on Patreon so you can watch how I interpret each photo into a painting.
This sketchbook I'm using is called Carnet de Voyage by Clairefontaine. The pages are 180 gsm and it feels quite hot pressed. It's not completely ideal for watercolour painting but it does a pretty good job.
We all have a chat and a laugh. It's a warm and relaxed environment where you can have your video on or off, talk or stay silent, paint or just watch! I have found these sessions such a wonderful way to connect with you all and I look forward to them each month.
So, If you are already a Wild Rose or Cherry Blossom, why not join us next time. Or you can change your tier membership and get access to this and so much more in the higher tiers. If you wish to edit your membership to enjoy the benefits of the other tiers at any point this can be done easily on your membership page. You will have access to all the recordings of the previous watercolour hang outs.
Happy Painting!
