Hello Everyone!

This was a BUSY month for us at Fool & Scholar HQ and around the world! From Japanese recording sessions, to soundtrack mastering (Atrius Endures), to on-site sound effect captures, and so much more! We're excited to share our updates!

First, as you can see in the above photos, we recorded our first ever Japanese language fiction podcast! With fifteen actors for TWENTY-TWO HOURS in a Tokyo studio we recorded most of the parts, and we finish the final recording early tomorrow morning. We've already edited the first episode to near-completion, and our Japanese language director, Yoshitaka Hirota (Final Fantasy, Shadow Hearts), is writing music for it! While most of you do not speak Japanese, we are still excited to share how the project is coming along and hope you don't mind these updates. We are also about to celebrate our 10 year anniversary as fiction podcasters on June 24th... And to kick off the celebrations we will release updated anniversary versions of select Liberty: Tales from the Tower stories. These anniversary editions will have (most of) the same amazing voice actors, but with updated scripts, brand new sound effects, and soundtracks! The changes these episodes are undergoing are a testament to how much we have learned in the last decade of audio storytelling.

Last month we also finished primary recording on The White Vault's final season!!! Dialogue editing and pre-emptive sound design by Rikke Rømer (our amazing intern who recorded during her travels through Spain, Denmark, and England) are already underway. She's been brilliantly designing sounds for Liberty and The White Vault, using creative methods as she works toward her degree! We're seriously so lucky to have her as our intern this year!

Tears were shed during our final recording sessions with our core The White Vault cast. It's been an emotional ride for the last eight years, and putting those final lines to the microphone hit different. We know the Goshawk has really changed the feeling of The White Vault, but as a massive world, it is full of many kinds of tales, and all tales must truly end. We look forward to sharing Goshawk's, and The White Vault's, final season later this year.

To lighten the mood in the recording booth following those final lines, Iffy (Lauren Tucker) and Adele (Marcy Edwards) joined Travis, Jare from Dark Dice (Florian Seidler), Dr. Kovski from Liberty (Paul Mella), Ryan Philbrook (The Boar Knight), and Mega Ran to record a silly cover song from Parappa the Rapper. It has nothing to do with The White Vault (we can't share that content until a bit later) but it made us all laugh. If you know the game, maybe it'll get a chuckle out of you.

As you're likely aware, Finnur and Travis have been diligently working on Don't Mind Sealskin Rock, and the story is now more than half way done! (This is also the LAST WEEK to sign up for your Grotte Coin!) We still have a LOT of work to do before the story concludes next month.

Travis is also wrapping up the transcripts for Season 2 of Dark Dice, with only 40 more pages to review. We're also wrapping up updates on our Kickstarted RPG book Unnatural Horrors - which is now available for preorder as a physical book.

If you follow us on YouTube or Instagram, you may have also noticed that we're making a LOT more short-form content. With the steady decline of social media as a means of growing our audience, we feel that the only effective way to market our stories (without spending thousands of dollars) is now largely limited to TikTok and other short-form video platforms. We're still learning how to do this, but you can follow our short-form antics there if you have interest. We will be posting at least a video every day for the foreseeable future, which has been a huge undertaking for audio-based creators like us, but it's taking us less and less time each video.

Until our next update!

P.S. Can you guess which Liberty episode we're recording the cart in an elevator for?
